Join our new weekly gardening club with Saturday meetups and monthly classes

Spring is here, and so is the Lincoln Township Gardening Club. Whether you have been gardening for decades or have never touched a trowel, this new weekly club is your invitation to get your hands dirty alongside your neighbors.

What to Expect

The Gardening Club meets every Saturday morning at The Horn in Lake George. Each week brings a mix of hands-on activity and friendly conversation:

  • Hands-on gardening — Work together on community plots and individual projects
  • Tips and technique sharing — Learn from experienced local gardeners and share what you know
  • Seed and plant swaps — Bring extras from your garden, take home something new
  • Community plot maintenance — Help tend shared garden spaces that benefit the whole township

Monthly Classes

On the first Saturday of each month, we host a special class focused on a single topic. Upcoming sessions will cover subjects like:

  • Composting basics and building healthy soil
  • Native Michigan plants for pollinators and wildlife
  • Container gardening for small spaces and beginners
  • Seasonal planning and succession planting
  • Preserving your harvest

Each class is designed to be practical and hands-on. You will leave with knowledge you can put to work in your own yard that same day.

All Skill Levels Welcome

You do not need experience, tools, or a green thumb to join. The whole point is learning together and building community around something we all share — a love of growing things. Beginners are especially encouraged to come out and give it a try.
